Communication Merit Badge

Scouts working on this merit badge at summer camp, this page is for you!  Follow these instructions to complete your webpage on the Troop 390 site.

1. Navigate to www.troop390.org/wp-admin

2. Use the name and password you’ve been provided to login to the Wordpress dashboard

3. Navigate to the left column and select “Pages>Edit.”

4.You’ll see a list of all the pages on the website by name.  Hover over the name of your webage and then select “Edit.”

5. Edit your page.  To add a link, (1) highlight the text you want as a hyperlink, then (2) select the link button.

6. Enter the complete url in the add link box and save.

7. To save your changes, you must click “Publish” before you navigate away from your page.

8. To add a photo, select the “add image” icon and follow the instructions.

IMPORTANT

  • For youth safety, you must not include the last names of any scouts in text or captions.
  • We respect copyrights. DO NOT add any photo, image, or cartoon that is not your original work or to which you do not have permission to post.

Finally, read the requirement to ensure that your webpage includes all the necessary elements.  Call Mrs. Hare when you believe your are ready to be signed off.

Requirement 7b Create a web page or blog of special interest to you (for instance, your troop or crew, a hobby, or a sport). Include at least three articles or entries and one photograph or illustration, and one link to some other Web page or blog that would be helpful to someone who visits the Web page or blog you have created. It is not necessary to post your Web page or blog to the Internet, but if you decide to do so, you must first share it with your parents and counselor and get their permission.
