As soon as you are assigned a trip to plan, print out Steps to a Successful Outing. Following the steps will help your outing to be successful. Remember: planning begins 3 months before the event.
Your Eagle Binder should be tidy, kept up to date, and ready for Scoutmaster’s Conferences and Boards of Review. Be certain to include these six tabbed sections: 1. Leadership 2. Outings 3. Service 4. Ranks & Merit Badges– with clear plastic baseball card pockets. The pockets hold the cards that are presented with rank badges, completed blue cards, and the cards that are presented with merit badges. It is extremely important to keep all these cards. 5. Photos/Mementos 6. Other. This section is a good place to put Leadership Recognition certificates in plastic sleeves. It is also handy to have a pencil pouch in the eagle binder to hold beads and patches.
